Falling under the Director General of the Centre, CRTI is led by a Director who oversees Portfolio Managers responsible for managing investments and related activities in CRTI’s five science clusters: Chemical, Biological, Radiological-Nuclear, Forensic, and Explosives.
CRTI is governed by the Public Security Science and Technology (PSST) Program Management Board (PMB) and Steering Committee. The PSST PMB provides operational oversight and is co-chaired by the Director General, DRDC Centre for Security Science, and Director General, Public Safety Emergency Management Policy. Members include the Directors General in participating departments. The Steering Committee is co-chaired by the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Science and Technology, Department of National Defence (DND), and the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Emergency Management and National Security, Public Safety (PS) Canada, with membership from participating federal departments and agencies at the ADM level. The Steering Committee is responsible for endorsing CRTI investment priorities, developing strategic policy, and overseeing financial activities.
