The Chemical, Biological, Radiological-Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Research and Technology Initiative (CRTI) is led by the Defence and Research Development Canada’s (DRDC) Centre for Security Science. The mandate of the CRTI is to fund projects in science and technology (S&T) that will strengthen Canada's preparedness for, prevention of, and response to potential CBRNE threats to public safety and security. Through this collaborative, coordinated initiative, the federal S&T community and its partners are working to enhance Canada's capability and capacity to respond to CBRNE threats to public security.
