The 8th annual Public Security S&T Summer Symposium 2010: Concept to Capability- Enhanced Public Security through Collaborative S&T will be hosted in the National Capital Region June 14-17, 2010.
The Defence R&D Canada Centre for Security Science (DRDC CSS) is composed of three programs: CBRNE Research Technology Initiative (CRTI), Public Security Technical Program (PSTP) and the Canadian Police Research Centre (CPRC). Through investments in science and technology, the centre addresses Canada's ability to prepare, prevent, respond to, and recover from events that impact on Canada's safety and security. The symposium will highlight the S&T knowledge created by project partners in the field of CBRNE, Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Surveillance, Intelligence, and Interdiction (SI2), and Emergency Management Systems and Interoperability (EMSI).

Public Security S&T Summer Symposium 2010 will offer the following events:
June 14, 2010: Annual Pan-Cluster meeting of the CRTI and PSTP Cluster. Open to Cluster members only.
June 15-16, 2010: Public Security S&T Summer Symposium with panel discussions focusing on priorities and capability planning, technical demonstrations, poster session, and keynote speakers. Open to national and international S&T organizations, First Responders, Emergency Planners, and S&T personnel.
June 17, 2010: Responder Day - Harnessing S&T knowledge to strengthen the Tri-Services across Canada.
